My First Focus Group

I had always heard about focus groups and how companies utilize them to perform market research.  But I always wondered how they picked the lucky ducks to be focus group participants.

That is, until a few months when Tiny Oranges introduced me to Fieldwork LA-Orange County.  After reading that Tiny Oranges post, I immediately submitted my information online, and suddenly, I became one of those "lucky duck" focus group participants.

Last night, I participated in my first focus group and it was a really cool experience.  I got to share my opinions in a round-table environment on products that I know A LOT about.  (I could tell you what those products are, but then I'd have to kill you :>)  After about 2 hours of looking at products we were done...and I walked out with an $85 Visa gift card.  Not bad for doing something I love - voicing my opinion!

If you live in the LA/Orange County area and are interested in getting involved in focus groups, I highly recommend you check out Fieldwork.  Their team is very professional, efficient and friendly.  Who knows, your opinions could shape the new products and services that are coming very soon.  I sure hope my opinions will!

Love hearing about your experience! I signed up too! Been called 3 times but it has never worked out. I hope one of these days it does because it sounds like a lot of fun, and hey, who couldn't use a $85 Visa card?? Thanks for reading my blog!!

Jen, I love your blog! I follow it religiously! I hope you are able to participate in a focus group, too. It's fun, and it's always nice to walk out with a Visa card.
