My son surprised me and wrote the entire alphabet all by himself today! We have been working on a tracing board but he hasn't been writing letters all that much on his own. (Oh, and "E F G" are on the bottom line in a different color because he did kind of skip over them initially.) And while some letters are somewhat illegible, this whiteboard is an absolute masterpiece to me - which is why I took a picture of it!
I am so proud of him because, first of all, he took the initiative to write the letters. I had asked him to trace his letters earlier in the day, but certainly not to write them all freehand. Secondly, he did such a good job. And lastly, you should have seen how proud he was of himself. I should have taken a picture of the smile on his face, but I was too busy kissing and hugging him.
Since he is only in preschool, I am not sure where he fits in academically...and that is fine by me. But as far as I am concerned, he is keeping a perfect pace for himself. I am definitely one proud mommy!

Yes, and I was thrilled today when he erased his alphabet masterpiece to create a new one!
