Your Dishwasher: Should it Stay or Should it Go?

Our dishwasher is a little over 5 years old and has been acting up lately. Should we get a new one or just repair the one we have?

According to Consumer Reports, it makes sense to replace a dishwasher that is 6 years or older, rather than repair it. This is because of the improvements that have been made to today's dishwashers such as sophisticated sensors, high-efficiency pumps and improved filtration. As a resultof these improvements, dishes get sparkling clean with just 3 gallons of water - which will actually save you money on water and energy costs.

Hmm, I suppose I should start researching new dishwashers...

I think it would be a good idea to think about get a new Dishwasher rather than repairing your old one, With the cost of repairing and the chance something else will go wrong in the near future compared to the saving in energy and water with a new one it it definately worth the initial layout on a new machine
