A Boo Boo Gone Bad

Did you know that the chin is one of the most common areas for children to need stitches? My husband and I learned this the hard way yesterday from a doctor at urgent care who was painfully giving our 2-year old three stitches in his chin.

Who would have ever thought a Tonka dump truck could do so much damage? (That's what he hit his chin on.) But I am happy to report that our son was very brave and managed through the pain. Of course, he was rewarded with a lollipop and a toy after his act of bravery!

A find from this experience...the Nexcare Tattoo bandages are perfect to cover up the stitches. He left urgent care with a standard bandage on that he was able to rip off abotu 20 seconds after we got outside the building. But the Tattoo makes it virtually impossible for any child to take off. (Or so I hope!)

Poor little buddy! Hope he's doing okay. I can't believe my oldest is 5-1/2 and we have had NO stitches yet. Great, I just jinxed myself, huh?

While the Tattoo bandage has done a great job keeping staying on and keeping out germs, I wish I could say my little guy didn't take it off while sleeping last night...but he did. luckily, the wound is healing nicely.
