Traveling with Toddlers

We're recently took the girls on their 2nd big fly away trip to San Diego. We had 2 adults flying with the kids and and one adult driving with the extra stuff. Having a car take all of our "extras" made the airline travel a breeze. I started preparing items to take with us weeks in advance and I must have pinned and read at least 12 articles on traveling with toddlers before making a checklist for packing. This list is by far way over packing, but I think I'll hold onto the list for future travel it was a helpful way to keep me focused and organized in the packing process. We started off our trip with one very sick child so I wanted to be prepared with all the comforts of home. We surprisingly used everything that came with us except for the swim items.

On the plane...
-wallet, diaper bag
-birth certificates for kids
-sanitized hand wipes
-snacks for on  plane including sippy cups and cheerio containers, bibs
-change of clothes one set for each child and another shirt for mom
-garbage bag, boogie wipes
-new books  (wrapped as presents)
-etch a sketch, crayons, new coloring books, stickers, color wonder markers and book, mini play dough with mini cookie cutters
-ipad w/ fun downloads
-stroller
-diapers, wipes
-mini blankets
Both flights were a success. Everything that I brought to go on the plane was used to entertain the little ones. We were lucky that it was a short flight without delays. I packed enough of the "activity" items so that we would have new things to do on the flight home.

In the car...
-car seats
-plug protectors, twist ties for cords or cupboards (I didn't end up using these, but have in previous trips)
-diapers, wipes, night time diapers
-pajamas, socks, shoes, pants, tops, sweatshirts, jackets, brush, hair stuff, toothbrushes, toothpaste
-portable cribs, crib bedding, blankets, doll and stuffed animal
-mini puzzle set, several small toys, 3 new books, more play dough, a new compact board game
-sand toys, bathing suits, life jackets, sun block, swim diapers, beach towels, sand shoes
-dish soap, sippy cups, bowls, spoons, forks, bibs, medicine, band aids
-large & small plastic ziploc bags, tupperware
-Dry food snacks, applesauce, cheerios, cookies, yogurt, granola bars, raisins, and fruit snacks

I hope this list will help you with your travels. We had a wonderful trip, the girls can't stop talking about it. I look forward to sharing more of our San Diego adventures with you soon!
