So you may have seen on the news today something about the
Bumbo Baby Seat
. If you have one of these chairs don't panic. Unlike alot of the toys your child plays with, these chairs have not been recalled. The Consumer Product Safety Commission has issued a warning that you should not put your baby in this chair on an elevated surface like the kitchen counter or a table. (Which I say, "duh!" to.)
This is due the fact that the
Bumbo Baby Seat
does not have a harness and there have been reported cases of babies arching their backs or turning on their sides and falling on their heads. If on an elevated surface, that is a very long fall. So what this tells me is to use the chair on the carpet...on the floor!

"duh!" do these parents NOT read WARNINGS? If your child falls out of the bumbo and YOU have put it on a RAISED OR UNEVEN SURFACE and did not read ther warning i call YOU A DUM ASS!!
The bumbo chair is intended for up to 22lbs,that is the size of a baby that can not take care of itself. Why would you leave a baby unattended sitting on a table or countertop? WHY is a baby SITTING on a table at all?!
Just so you know, the Bumbo has "technically" been recalled as of 10/26/07. However, the recall just states that if you currently own a seat, you can get stickers that indicate the chair should not be put on elevated places. I saw this recall on a news station's website and thought "great, that recall happened fast." But as it turns out, it is just clever scare tactics from a news station to keep us all in fear. (Sorry, I am a little skeptical of news stations right now after the 9 millionth story about Britney's custody battle. Enough already about Britney...leave her alone!)
